KOMMONSENTSJANE – KIDS AND PARENTING

Parenting is becoming  very hard on women’s health.  Not because of parenting – but due to not taking care of themselves.  Women complain about children always interrupting them.  Children are  not the problem – the parents are the problem.

The problem is the lack of physical or emotional boundaries between parents and then their children.  In order to garner respect, parents have to establish boundaries between themselves and then their children.

There was an interesting story recently  concerning a parent who had to go and hide from her children just to get away  from them for a while.  How sad!

The parents establish when children can or cannot be in their space.  Example:  Some days we could play indoors and some days we were made to play outdoors.  It was clear as to who made the decision.  The mother or father made the decision – not the child.

We respected our parents and obeyed them.  We never yelled or called them names.  We never demanded anything and we did not take them for granted.  Parents, today, do not let their children solve their problems while growing up; thereby, children do not establish emotional boundaries.  Parents try to solve all of their children’s problems whether it entails their successes or failures.  The children, therefore, have to learn by sometimes failing or sometimes being successful.   And, when they don’t solve all of their problems, it is not the end of the world.

The parents in the end make or break the problem with a two-letter word called, “NO.”

Something that always works when a child is angry – whispering works wonders when a child is angry.  Simply whisper gentle words into his ear.  He will stop crying so he can hear what you are saying.  And, 100 percent effective on husbands.
