The meaning and origin of the expression: Wet behind the ears

The allusion is to the inexperience of a baby, so recently born as to be still wet.

This phrase was in circulation in the USA in the early 20th century – twenty years before it was first recorded elsewhere. The converse of the phrase – ‘dry back of the ears’, was also known in the USA from around the same date.

Rubio is what we call a “high-stepper.”  Some who steps from one job to another and doesn’t complete the  first job because he is so busy looking for the next big promotion.  Ask the people of Florida if he did not abandon them to run for president and how many votes he missed in the Senate.

And he sure can’t handle his money – so I don’t want him handling the country’s money decisions.  Rumor has it that this is the type of toilet paper Rubio uses in his home.
