Today was TV watching day. We started out with the Rose Bowl Parade. While watching the floats, I think about all of the work the floats required and the amount of money spent, time and artistic ability, and in the end the beauty of all of them – what patience it required.
When the games started – I wondered how they rank the teams. They seemed to have missed the mark in the rankings this year. The teams that played each other did not seem to match because the scores were so lop-sided.
The players also seemed to commit a lot of infractions and some were bad sports – rather than play – they wanted to fight the opposite team players. You would think the coaches would have instilled more discipline in their players. The big thing seemed to be pulling the opposite team’s face masks where the penalty is automatically 15 yards which results in hurting the team. Why are these player always so angry? In the end – the officials had their hands full.
Again, it seems to me the people who rank these teams need to do a better job and the coaches need to instill more sportsmanship into these games. It has become very boring to watch these players try to kill each other rather than use their skill. After all, it is just a game; and, if you ask someone in a week who won a particular game – bet they wouldn’t be able to tell you.
The biggest question that comes to mind – are these football players receiving an education with their football playing or are they attending these colleges just to play football and waiting for the next step which is the NFL.
