The Election of Barack Obama Did Not Confirm My Faith in America…It Affirmed It

This is interesting. I wonder if this blogger still feels the same about Obama since for seven years he has worked against the country? Or, maybe she feels differently than I do? Obama has not helped America – he has hurt America by bringing in all of the illegals and the Muslims. However she feels is okay by me – because we are entitled to our own opinion. But, would love to know?

This morning while driving to work I was listening to the radio, and on the Tom Joyner Morning Show they were talking about how some black people were buying American flags for the very first time in their lives. They said the election of Barack Obama finally made them feel like real Americans. Some were even saying they were going to decorate their Christmas trees with the colors red, white and blue. They all sounded so jubilant, but to me it was rather sad. I too was energized by the election of  Barack Obama, but I always knew this was my country. As black Americans we do have a rich and complicated history that includes slavery, segregation and Jim Crow justice, but this is and will always be my country. My ancestors built and fought for this country in three wars.  The election was not a confirmation…
