Let Russia do the heavy lifting in Syria. The reason Russia is involved is they are neighbors and do have some of the terrorists living in Russia – Chechnya. Remember when these terrorists blew up the school and killed all of the Russian children?
Beslan School Siege
Beslan school siege (also referred to as the Beslan school hostage crisis or Beslan massacre started on 1 September 2004, lasted three days and involved the capture of over 1,100 people as hostages (including 777 children), ending with the death of 385 people. The crisis began when a group of armed Islamic terrorists, mostly Ingush and Chechen, occupied School Number One (SNO) in the town of Beslan, North Ossetia (an autonomous republic in the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation) on 1 September 2004. The terrorists hostage-takers were the Riyadus-Salikhin Battalion, sent by the Chechen warlord Shamil Basayev, who demanded recognition of the independence of Chechnya and the UN and Russian withdrawal from Chechnya. On the third day of the standoff, Russian security forces stormed the building with the use of tanks, incendiary rockets and other heavy weapons. At least 385 hostages were killed, including 186 children, with a significant number of people injured and reported missing.
The event led to security and political repercussions in Russia; most notably, it contributed to a series of federal government reforms consolidating power in the Kremlin and strengthening of the powers of the President of Russia. As of 2011, aspects of the crisis in relation to the militants continue to be contentious: questions remain regarding how many terrorists were involved, the nature of their preparations and whether a section of the group had escaped. Questions about the Russian government’s management of the crisis have also persisted, including allegations of disinformation and censorship in news media, whether the journalists who were present at Beslan were allowed to freely report on the crisis, the nature and content of negotiations with the terrorists, allocation of responsibility for the eventual outcome, and perceptions that excessive force was used.
Now you can see why Russia is involved!
Why did the USA ever become involved in a religious war that has been raging from day one? Why did Bush 2 ever think he was just going to walk in and take over the Middle East? Was it because the Bush’s have been in bed with Saudi Arabia from day one? The idea that anyone was going to go into the Middle East and tell these people they are going to become a democratic country was a mistake! Did he think the Kings, dictators, and Imans were going to give up their status of being in charge of the country and taking the country’s riches? Russia tried to do this for 20 years and finally threw up their hands and went home with their tail tucked between their legs.
The USA cannot continue to waste our money in that region. Now is a good time to let Russia work with Syria to get rid of ISIS. The USA is on the wrong side of the track – they are spending millions of dollars training people who they have no idea on whose side they are on. I would rather have Assad in power than ISIS. Look at the dictators the USA have taken out of power and look at what we have now – chaos in the Middle East with people in power who are not friendly to the USA. The thing I do not understand is why the USA thinks it is our business to interfere with other countries. If the people in that country do not rise up and make a change they don’t like – then we shouldn’t be minding their business.
Time to bring our troops home and let them fight their own religious wars. The words from our government were that if we didn’t fight them over there they would come to the USA. Then what does the USA government do – these nerds in Washington did not wait for them to come over here; in fact, this government BROUGHT them into this country. So they lied to us again.
