Howard Kurtz Fires Back at Jon Stewart’s Final Fox News Takedown
by Josh Feldman | 12:46 pm, August 9th,
Last Monday Jon Stewart kicked off his final week with one last huge Fox News takedown, but Howard Kurtz wasn’t going to let that slide without responding today.
This final rant was spurned by reports of Stewart’s visits to the White House. Stewart explained he wasn’t colluding with President Obama to promote his policies, they just chatted, even debated, with the president telling him he’s making young people too cynical.
That led to Kurtz and guest David Zurawik to really go after Stewart, with talk of Stewart being an Obama “propagandist.” This all culminated in Stewart’s final Fox takedown, pointing out that 1) he’s been tough on the White House, and 2) Fox didn’t actually back up its assertions with facts.
Kurtz said today Stewart was “awfully defensive” and that he did try to be fair to him.
He maintained that “Jon’s liberal worldview that prompts him to frame most segments in a certain way” and pointed out that all of his interviews with Obama were “very friendly.” (The thing I still don’t understand is why Stewart calibrated with Obama when Obama treats the Jews so badly and why do Jews always vote for Democrats when all they want are their votes . What, pray tell me, has the Democratic Party ever done for Jews except to give them a hard time – a question that no one seems to be able to answer?)
It’s probably worth noting here that Kurtz complained about Stewart’s selective editing, but a clip he played of Stewart cut off before something rather unflattering he pointed out about Fox News CEO Roger Ailes.
Isn’t it all about ratings in the end? The TV in my house never seemed to reach either of these guys after watching them a couple of times on O’Reilly’s show. Stewart was like a wrecking ball – he seemed too hyped up like he was on something and Kurtz just always seemed to be off-key – but in the end – don’t you just hate to see grown men cry! The thing about it, they are on opposite ends of the spectrum – so how could they ever reach that same rainbow?

Jon Stewart is blaming the liberals for Trump. I have to agree with him. In fact, isn’t Jon Stewart a liberal since he collaborated with Obama to twist the minds of our young people on his weekly program and follow Obama’s warped mind? I thought Stewart retired – did Obama ask Stewart to return to the fold and commit to bending some more minds? Why is Stewart so bent out of shape – what is he afraid of?
