Watched Megan Kelly tonight – she sponsored a debate between Geraldo  Rivera and Ann Coulter about immigrants which was a carry-over from a previous night when Geraldo supplied some numbers which were suspicious. Geraldo garnered some statistics that he said he received from the government.  Hate to tell you Geraldo, this government we have is the wrong place to go for truthful statistics.

The government reports that unemployment is 5.8% when it is really 24.0%. The average worker (1)  carries 4 people on his back.  Just think one person is working to support 4 people who are unemployed.  The government throws a number of 1.5% inflation rate when it really is 11.0%.    

As we know the government is manipulating the numbers.  And the question then is – how are the retailers getting around this?  A good example is to look at your peanut butter jar – the bottom use to be flat – now it is curved to decrease the amount.  The price is the same but you have less.  Check out your cereal box.  It is the same size but thinner in size – so you have less at the the same price.  

Definition of inflation – A general increase in prices and fall in the purchasing value of money.

 So, are we all being snookered?
