We are all given a position in life and, hopefully, everyone will have a person who supports them. We had nothing to do with being thrust into that position. In a lot of homes there is no support mechanism because of the circumstances and that all happens because of self-responsibility which does not happen in that household. It all stems from lack of moral responsibility.
How can anyone, today, be responsible for slavery that occurred during the thirteen colonial days in America? Why do the black people of today still hang on to that word “slavery?” The current population had nothing to do with slavery and to continue to harbor ill will against the current population is down right stupid. The reason they continue to bring this forward is it continues to open that wound and takes them into victim-hood. The blacks are 10% of the population and we are wasting too much time on something that will never be resolved because the Democratic Party does not want it resolved – it is the only way this party can keep this population on their knees and the blacks just can’t see it.
The confederate flag is part of history and you can do all the hollering, burning, and complaining – but history is still there. So just suck it up and move on because each of these people are wasting a lot of time when they could be moving up the ladder.
We all know when we enter any work force we have to start at the bottom rung of the ladder in any job. If you are not educated then you will continue to stay at the bottom of that ladder unless you go into business for yourself and be self-employed. So face it, you have to go to school, you have to learn the rules of the road, and then you move on. Standing in the background and hollering “racism” doesn’t move anything forward.

Slavery in the colonial United States
The origins of slavery in the colonial United States are complex and there are several theories that have been proposed to explain the trade. It was largely tied to European colonies’ need for labor, especially plantation agricultural labor in their Caribbean sugar colonies operated by Great Britain, France, Spain, and the Dutch Republic.
Most slaves who were brought to the Thirteen British colonies which later became the Eastern seaboard of the United States were imported from the Caribbean, not directly from Africa. They arrived in the Caribbean predominantly as a result of the Atlantic slave trade. Although slavery of indigenous peoples also occurred in the North American colonies, by comparison of scale it was less important. Slave status for Africans usually became hereditary. (Why? They weren’t the ones that were the slaves.)

Bree Newsome climbed the flagpole!

A woman identified as Bree Newsome was arrested Saturday after climbing the flagpole at the South Carolina Statehouse in Columbia, S.C., about 6:30 a.m. and removing the Confederate flag, Rashad Robinson, executive director of ColorOfChange.org, said in a statement.
But state officials ordered the banner to be raised again by 8:30 a.m., Robinson tells The Root.
Robinson, whose group last week started a petition titled “Take Down The Confederate Flag From The South Carolina Capitol,” which has received more than 55,000 signatures, supported the activist. He identified her as a North Carolina educator. A second person was arrested, but his or her identity is not yet known.
“The confederate flag was born out of a government defending the enslavement of Black people and resurrected as an emblem for whites violently opposing racial integration,” Robinson said in the statement. “Any government that recognizes the flag is declaring that it cherishes a history of racial terror. This flag sends a horrible message about what our country was and a reminder of what we can still be. The flag is down now, we should keep it down, and any charges against these activists should be dropped immediately.”
The incident comes a day after President Barack Obama delivered a moving eulogy which was divisive at the funeral of State Sen. the Rev. Clementa Pinckney, who was gunned down with eight others last week by a gunman during Bible study at Emanuel AME church in Charleston, S.C. It is noted that the blame for all of this divisiveness should be attached to Obama.

We are in a new century – so get over it and move on! History is history and should be there to learn from mistakes of the past. If you want to live in the past – then just go read about it. This writer wants to elevate people to the future and not waste time on the past because my grand parents had nothing to do with slavery; and, in fact, my grand parents were immigrants and they had to work long and hard to achieve that “dream of coming to America.” They slaved every day to achieve that. So there are different types of slaves. So, again, just get over it! All of us have never had it so good and that includes black people – the road to success is out there – so just get off your back side and grab it. This complaining and victim-hood is out of style in this century.
