Famous country singer Toby Keith is a patriot and proud American. He has been an unapologetic defender of our military, with songs about the invasion of Iraq and the struggles veterans face when they return home.

Keith is tired of President Obama’s pathetic leadership on foreign policy… But after seeing Obama’s response to the church shooting in South Carolina by 21-year old Dylann Roof, he spoke out in a huge way!

As the Associated Press reported,  Toby Keith was asked at the Songwriters Hall of Fame gala if he agrees with Obama’s push for stricter gun control in the wake of this racially motivated tragedy. Keith didn’t hesitate when explaining how criminals don’t follow gun laws anyway:

Toby Keith says he’s not sure how to prevent tragedies like Wednesday’s church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, but doesn’t think stricter gun laws would make a difference.

“If it can happen in church, it can happen anywhere, so there’s no answer to it,” Keith said.

“Countries all over the world that have really strict gun polices, like Oslo, Norway. It happens there.”

He feels it’s hard to predict where violence will show up, but felt if a police officer had been praying at The Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Wednesday, “maybe seven or eight of those nine people would still be alive.

Toby Keith is referring to the 2011 shootings and bombing near Oslo caused by right-wing terrorists, which resulted in the death of 77 people… most of whom were children.

And Keith is making an important point- if a police officer with a gun… or any gun owner… was praying in that church, fewer people would have lost their lives. They would have used their weapon to stop this insane shooter before he could kill more people.

Thank you Toby Keith for standing up to Obama’s gun-grabbing agenda! I am embarrassed to have a President who would use this senseless tragedy to attack the 2nd Amendment, and it’s refreshing that a famous singer is willing to risk his career and speak out.

Guns are not the only means for killing people – just look at what is happening in the Middle East and the whole world – they use any means available – burning, knives, explosives, and hanging.
