Dear Beau,
You were the keeper of our heart. You were such a happy and lovable puppy and we are going to miss you so much. It has only been ten hours since your heart attack and our hearts are breaking with sadness.
On April 7, 2015, at 8:28 a.m. the keeper of our heart left this world. We are devastated that you are not sitting on the sofa with us or at the window barking because the deer were in your yard invading your space.
It happened so quickly, you were fine one day and it seemed out of the blue you started walking from room to room, causing us concern. Then it happened, you became confused and walked into furniture.
Then the bad news from the vet. Your sickness happens to older puppies. We realized that the news was not good but hoped that we could make it better with meds. The suffering that you went through in such a short while made it worse, just watching you go from vibrant to limp and especially your trembling.
We tried to comfort you and held you all day. We knew you were suffering and afraid. We keep assuring ourselves that by tomorrow you would jump up after taking the meds; but, as the vet spoke to us that your body was 98 and completely worn out. The meds looked like they might work; but, when morning came – a greater calling seem to be in charge. Those big navy blue eyes stopped smiling and the big sigh, I knew it was time for us to give you up. Even with mouth to mouth, we realized, it was time for us to let you go, and join your original parents, Bettie and Bob, in heaven.
We loved you so much during the time we had with you and hoped you enjoyed our home because we made you a part of our family when you lost your original parents.
We will miss you each day. We will miss our walks to the gate in the morning and in the evening. We will especially miss the happiness you brought into our lives. We will see you in heaven!
Beau, we loved you so much!
Robbie and Joyce
