What is SA101, a.k.a. the Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA)?  It is designed to protect the free exercise of religion, as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Indiana. Specifically, the law does several things.  First, it creates a two-pronged test for the circumstances where the state government may limit a persons’ right to free exercise of religion.”  (1) is in furtherance of a compelling governmental interest; and (2) is the least restrictive means of furthering that compelling governmental interest.  

In other words, the State of Indiana can interfere with someone’s right to exercise his or her religion only if it has a very good reason for doing so (the compelling governmental interest Part) and it does so in the least inconvenient (or restrictive) way possible.  

This part of the law is not particularly controversial.  Similar tests exist in every state RFRA and the federal RFRA signed by President Bill Clinton.  (So why are all of these liberals so bent out of shape – they agreed then and why are they disagreeing now?)  The law allows a person sued in Indiana to claim his or  her sincerely held religious belief as a defense.

So why was this law passed?  In theory the law is supposed to give some legal protection to those who think the state is interfering with their right to practice their religion freely.  

Is it true the law is anti-gay?  The law does not explicitly make discrimination against LGBT people legal, but it may have the effect of doing so.  So the answer is yes and no.  

Proponents of the law argue there is nothing new here.  The Indiana RFRA is virtually identical to every other RFRA that has passed in 19 states.  It looks like there is a complete mischaracterization of what this Indiana act does and is  intended to do.

The thing I do not understand is why anyone cares if a person is gay.  They are the one who is living the lifestyle.  Let them fight their own battle, if there is one.  The states and cities can encompass any lifestyle and we have many in the U.S.  The part that bothers me is when they start interfering with my lifestyle as a Christian – that is when my feathers become ruffled.

 If I were in business and a gay couple came in and wanted to place an order – what I would do is – treat them like any other customers –  take the order – don’t ask any questions – do not let them give you too much information (TMI) because some people are trying to put you in box so they can sue you and make some extra cash.  And then – just move on.  In the end, if I am willing to share the world with them why aren’t they willing to do the same.  The world doesn’t belong to any of us – we are here for just a moment in time!

I don’t think this Indiana protest was just the LGBT group.  In my own mind, I think the progressives and Muslims made hay out of this protest and joined in – which made it more than it started out to be.  I am totally disappointed that some of the business community entered the fray.  Those businesses will be on my list of second chances.  Also, CNN’S Costello calling out people to make them take a side tells you about CNN and their agenda.  

So, as the world turns in the U.S.,  we will continue to seriously look at who is trying to make America a country of freedom or those who are trying to upset the apple cart which started with Adam and Eve.  Is Costello the “Eve?”

It looks like this is a deliberate attempt to derail Governor Pence’s entering the 2016 presidential race.  Also let’s take a look at the people who were doing the protesting?  Were these the same people who joined in the paid protesting in Wall Street, Ferguson, Florida, and on and on?

 The main street media is again pulling the strings on all of these acts of protests and I should not have to mention the names of all of the liberals who are pumping money into the paid protests to create just another crisis and don’t forget our government who is just grinding their teeth to jump in the fray.
