Some weeks after delivering what many in the media and pundits (and what we expected from the left) believe was a “disastrous” speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit, former governor, former vice presidential candidate, and still the current most powerful female politician on the planet Sarah Palin took to the podium at CPAC on Thursday and hit it out of the park. Most of her speech concerned veterans’ issues, both heartfelt and filled with policy suggestions. She also took some swings against the Obama administration’s ISIS policy. The media, typically, reacted with irritation.

Typical of the reaction from the left side of the media were the accounts in both the Daily Beast and the Huffington Post. They suggested that Palin’s address was not “typical” in that it was coherent. Clearly what they meant was that it didn’t fit the received narrative that Sarah Palin is a psycho bimbo. It was the evaluation of people who have not been following Palin very objectively for the past six or seven years.

Even the right side of the media expressed amaze that the same woman who brought tens of thousands of people to their feet at the 2008 Republican National Convention could still manage the English language six and half years later. The American Spectator stated, “Since the amassed media was clicking away and recording like there was no tomorrow, I suspect, because, like me, they were prepared to file a story immediately about the disjointed, incomprehensible Palin speech they thought they were getting, it’s easy to admit that maybe Sarah Palin’s days are over. She’s a punchline waiting for a joke. “ It was damning with faint praise.

Sarah Palin’s money line was her tart response to Marie Harf’s suggestion that we can’t “kill our way” to victory over ISIS. “Tell that to the Nazis. Oh wait, you can’t – because they’re dead. We killed them.” Palin, left for dead just a few weeks ago, proved to be still very much alive. The Mama Grizzly still has claws.  Following are some other topics that Sarah has spoken about.
