GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN:
Joan Rivers Excluded from 2015 Oscars ‘In Memoriam’ Montage. THIS LADY MADE THE RED CARPET! With her wit and humor, how could they forget so soon??
Eat your own! Is that what Hollywood did here? How could they forget this lady? Are they now having to eat their own poop. To not say something was more noticeable than saying something brief and now they end up being bitten in the butt over it and having to clean up their own poop!
It’s an unfortunate, yet seemingly inevitable, Oscars occurrence: Every year, without fail, someone is left out of the “In Memoriam” sequence. What, no vetters available?
This year’s offensive exclusion appears to be the late, great Joan Rivers, whose absence from the montage sent the Twitterverse into an immediate tizzy — and rightfully so.
For the record, Rivers appeared in many films during her incredible career in Hollywood, including Muppets Take Manhattan (pictured), Serial Mom, Iron Man 3, Spaceballs, The Smurfs and her own documentary A Piece of Work. She also directed the 1978 comedy Rabbit Test, which starred Billy Crystal and Doris Roberts.
(AND LET’S NOT FORGET THAT RIVERS IS LARGELY RESPONSIBLE FOR PUTTING THE OSCARS’ RED CARPET ON THE MAP.)
The Emmy-winning comedian died in Sept. 2014, following surgery complications.

The Academy Awards’ “In Memoriam” segment offered an egalitarian salute to a broad range of industry figures who died during the past 12 months. The segment was presented by Meryl Streep, the madam of the elite in Hollywood. Undoubtedly, Streep did not read her script prior to her presentation because with her dedication of “truth” in the Hollywood industry, I am sure she would have made some changes in her script. Or was this done on purpose because of Joan’s sometimes criticism of Hollywood?
The 87th Academy Awards were handed out Sunday, February 22nd at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. People were welcomed to the 2015 Academy Awards, the first post-epic-seflie Oscars. As Hollywood’s biggest stars descend on Los Angeles’ Kodak Theater, we were expecting fun, jaw-dropping fashion and a little bit of singing since Neil Patrick Harris was hosting, after all!
But, Patricia Arquette may have set the tone for a wild evening when she dissed E!’s famous “mani-cam” to Ryan Seacrest, who was broadcasting live on E!. The “Boyhood” star called it “silly,” perhaps not realizing that she was live on the network that actually touts the red carpet fixture. For the record, E! didn’t have the tiny “mani-cam” this year due to “space constraints.” No, we’re not joking.
Now what could Hollywood do to honor Joan? If they won’t, we will. The following is in memory of a lovely, funny lady and I miss her back bite!
