KOMMONSENTSJANE – COULD YOU USE AN EXTRA $1,200 PER YEAR

This past year, it was reported that almost 2,000,000 illegal immigrants were residing in the State of Texas – this is just Texas!  The financial burden of these illegal immigrants on the State grew from $9 billion in 2010 to $12 billion in 2013.  According to the national non-profit organization,, federation of American Immigrant Reform, the price tag per household (of law-abiding Texas citizens) is greater than  $1,197 per year.  That is right – almost $1,200 per year paid by law-abiding citizens like you and me to address the negative impact of illegal immigration on our state.   In this upcoming session in the government of Texas, Texans hope our priorities for this legislative session will be:

–  Eliminate benefits to illegal immigrants.

–  Practical solutions to border security.

–  Property tax reform.

–  Education reform (expanded vocational training).

–  Reduce the size and power of Government – increase the liberty of Texas citizens.

The representatives need to actively pursue and evaluate State solutions to help address illegal immigration.  For too long we have heard “that it is a Federal issue” and as a Texan I am unwilling to simply take that answer any longer.  Our goal should be to work with like-minded, conservative representatives and Democrats who are interested in exploring new, creative, and local solutions to addressing this EPIDEMIC.  This task is not an easy one, but one that we must achieve and a challenge we must accept in order to keep our State on the front burner of success.
