KOMMONSENTSJANE – A NEW KIND OF BALLOT – CALLED A SUCCESS BALLOT

It looks like San Antonio voting officials were caught red-handed when a voter took a photo of her ballot when it did not have the Republican Governor Greg Abbott’s name on her ballot – but instead listed outgoing Lt. Governor David Dewhurst.  She called it to the attention of the precinct officials and they moved her to another machine after shutting down that machine and at this time are still shaking their heads saying, “why folks it was photo-shopped.” (Photo-shopped means that someone used a program called “photo-shop” which is normally found in any image-editing computer software.)  That’s one way to take someone out of contention by omitting the person’s name on the ballot.  Those Democrats in Texas are very creative when it comes to being stupid!  Is this a new kind of trick in the voting booth?

Voter swears authenticity of Bexar County ballot missing Greg Abbott’s name.

SAN ANTONIO — A voter who took a photo of a Bexar County ballot that appears to show Greg Abbott’s name missing from the governor’s race said the photo is authentic after the image went viral and the county’s top election official said it appeared to be doctored.

“I am not trying to start an uproar,” Jade Stanford, the voter who took the photo, told the San Antonio Express-News Tuesday afternoon. “I just wish none of this would have happened.”

The image of the ballot began circulating social media and news sites after Abbott tweeted a link to the photo, which was originally shared by a KABB reporter. The image appears to show a flawed ballot on a voting machine that includes outgoing Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst’s name on the governor’s page, rather than Abbott, the Republican candidate.

Bexar County Elections Administrator Jacque Callanen told the Express-News Tuesday morning that she “think(s) it’s a photoshopped deal but we are checking.”

Elections officials took the voting machine in question out of service as a precaution as computer technicians on the scene worked to confirm it is operating correctly, Callenen said. At 5 p.m., she said officials are “still running all of the tests” and that the verdict would take “a little bit longer.”

Stanford, who took the photo at First Chinese Baptist Church at 5481 Prue Road in Precinct 3146, said county volunteers at the polling site confirmed what she saw and agreed there was a glitch — contrary to what Callanen said.

Stanford said she took pictures of the problem, emailed them to her mom and boyfriend, and suddenly the story went viral.

Stanford is unhappy that election volunteers aren’t allowed to talk to the media to corroborate her story.

And she’s not happy that Callanen is claiming the picture was altered. She offered to share her phone and photos with officials to conduct any tests they want.

“We’ve all trained our judges to not look at a ballot to see who somebody voted for,” said Callanen. “The judges said (the vote) was recorded, that’s where we are on this one.”

Abbott’s campaign did not return a request for comment.

The state’s election code prohibits voters from using “any mechanical or electronic means of recording images or sound within 100 feet of a voting station.”
