If you have ever had a pet, you know what I am talking about. They are your friend, your defender, your partner, and your dog. Their world is built around their and your life and you are their love and their leader. They are faithful and true, to the last beat of their heart. No matter how many times a day you leave and enter your home, they are there to greet you with that happy and excited love. The dog I am referring to is our son’s dog named “Mia,” a black lab who passed away last Friday with that dreaded word “cancer.” She was 13 years old. Mia was a beautiful dog and so playful and loving. Our son had her cremated and she will be around to remind us of the love she gave to the family. This is our son’s second dog who passed. The first dog he lost was “Amy” and she was cremated and is still in our hearts. Then we lost our dog, PePe, a poodle who was 17 years old when he passed away. This loss was tough, too. No matter how many, every time we lose a dog they take a piece of our heart with them. And every new dog that comes into our life gifts us with a piece of their heart; and, each time we will become just as attached and be generous and loving as they are.
We will miss Mia!
