KOMMONSENTSJANE – DID THE PRESIDENT OF MEXICO INSULT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

It was sad listening to Mexico’s President Enrique Pena Nieto because when he was elected I thought –  this man is going to help the people of Mexico and give them an opportunity for a better future – but, when he stated, “The anti-immigration views of many Americans are racist. He also stated, “I think it’s discriminatory, yes, and I think it’s unfortunate for a country whose formation and historic origin relies so much on the migration flows of many parts,  Europe and Asia, for instance.  I think this is a country whose origin to a great extent is one of migration and that’s why it’s unfortunate to hear this exclusionary and discriminatory tones regarding migration flows into the   United States.

“Today  we have to recognize that the migration that comes from Mexico to the United States has fallen.  There is a lower number of migrants  to balance between those who are coming to the  United States and that’s going back to Mexico is practically a zero balance today, and that reflects the fact that in Mexico we are opening greater opportunities for those who don’t want to leave their country or those who have no need to go looking for a new opportunity of personal or professional growth,”  needles to say, I was disappointed.

America is glad to hear about Mexico’s reforms.  It is time for the people to have a say in their lives and country and not running away to another country to make a better life and that is thanks to the new President’s reforms.  The President states that the flow of migration into the United States has fallen. That is true; but, it is due to the economy and the lack of jobs in the United States and now with Ebola – we will see how things turn out?

The way Mexico treats other Latinos in Central and South America – does that make Mexico racist or discriminatory.  How about Americans who come into your country?  Mexico has no tolerance of illegal aliens who enter into their country, including Latinos, especially those coming from Central and South America.   A good example is our marine who has been in Mexico’s jail. Mexico has taken advantage of our citizens’ resources and liberties.  Mexico has abused the laws of the United States by sending all of the illegal immigrants into our country and that is why Mexico does not want the border closed because it would stop the flow of money back to Mexico.  If it was not for this money,  Mexico’s economy would fall.  Does Mexico give free hospital care, food stamps, free education, housing, etc., to illegal people in Mexico like the United States does?  The answer, no!

Why didn’t Mexico share by taking some of the 90,000 illegals coming from Central America which were allowed to pass through your country with a deal with our leader and walked across our border?  Mexico’s President owes the American people an apology for his insensitive remarks after the hard-working people of this country continue to send aid money every year to Mexico and all of the illegals that are presently in the country and receiving help from the American people while the immigration debate is evolving.  The American people want the immigration laws followed and not abused which is happening.  Up to this point, the American people have witnessed two amnesties and they think it is time to establish and use the “laws of immigration” on both sides of the border.  Mexico is a beautiful place and as an American I wish the new President good fortune in his job.

Once upon a time on a trip to Mexico, our personal tour guide showed us the beautiful mansion in which the president lives and his last comment with a smile on his face was, “Our President always comes in poor and leaves a rich man and the Mexican people accept that.”  It is wished that he will also share some of this wealth with the people of Mexico who desire it! Mexico should be proud of its people because in all of my travels I have never met people who loved their country as they do.  And, my question would be, “if you love your country as much as you say, why is it you do not stay and work to improve it instead of running away?”  The answer was always the same, “We just cannot make the money we can make in the states.”
