It is amazing how the media has continued to chew on the National Football League (NFL) and players scandal. The media have always known that some football players are no Einsteins. Each year a Scouting Report is published which gives a summary of each player who has been drafted.
The blame has to go back to the parents and the educational system where they have failed the child and now the man. As most of the players reply, “that is the way I was raised.” By the time the typical player signs an NFL contract, around 100 scouts, coaches and general managers have poured over his history.
Where was the initial training by the parents and educational system for discipline, courtesies, respect, and etiquette. And then you get to the important part – reading, writing, and arithmetic. None of that has mattered for about 20 years. The only thing that mattered – that he was a good sports figure and he was socially promoted. How sad! So don’t go blaming the NFL, they didn’t take the kid to raise when the kid signed that multi-million dollar contract.
This is the road these young men travel and never look back.
