It seems like every time someone has an ailment they want a quick fix. They run to the doctor and ask for an antibiotic. In the past the doctor would quickly write out a prescription and move on to the next patient. Now, when people really have an ailment nothing works because our immune systems have lapped up these antibiotic and they have joined our system in the natural function of our body and they think they are just one of the functioning crowd. But everything has changed and now doctors are being more sceptical about handing these prescriptions out like candy. All of this brought to my attention an article which stated, “Bacterial Resistance to Antibiotics.” It stated:
The problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics is quite troubling these days. Medical professionals have found that if they use honey as a topical dressing, the bacteria die and don’t become resistant. The high sugar content of the honey causes bacteria to dehydrate, killing them. The person’s wound heals without being irritated by harsh antibacterial medicines. It seems that ranchers and farmers – some of them anyway – have used honey as a wound dressing for their animals after castration.
The honey doesn’t attack the bacteria, it just dries it out. There is no way for the bacteria to fight that battle and win. Honey is a potent anti-oxidant. It is about the only sweetener that is also a good food. I am talking about RAW honey, not heated messed-up honey.
Guess I will just have to try it the next time I have a small cut just to see if it really works.
