KOMMONSENTSJANE – QUIT CODDLING THESE BLACK FOLKS

Watching the news and observing the manner in which  Obama, the Governor and the locals in the town of Ferguson, MO, are handling the situation reminds me of the way the educational system is handling our children.  Some of the comments made are – they need to vent their frustrations.  Why don’t they just give all of these people a “feel good pill” like they do in the educational system?  What?

All of these people need to obey the law whether they like it or not.  The mistake was made to bend the law on Friday night and let these people who had nothing in common with the family of the person killed to allow them to loot and cause chaos.  All of this was the result of the Governor (who is a Democrat) and Obama making the statements they did.  I will always remember what a black councilor of a black high school, who was employed as a contractor at our place of employment, once told me.  When you have a problem with black people you treat them like they have been raised – you don’t coddle them.

On the job, we had several black employees who “acted up”  from time to time and the Employee Relations “white folks” could not reach these people.  So, our black contract employee would talk with the person.  My question to him was – what did you do that the white person could not do?  His answer was – you talk to him like he is being use to being talked to.  In other words, you say, “you blankety-blank, you have been given a good job and if you don’t like it here where you are making good money, good benefits, and don’t want to perform, then we need to have  you move on and give your job to another black that does want and appreciate the job.  So what do you have to say for yourself?”  In the end, the fellow walks out of the room with his tail feathers tucked between his legs.  In the end, he doesn’t come back for a second meeting with the black councilor – he becomes an excellent employee with a good attitude and helps other black employees in the company become productive employees without this attitude of “being a victim.”

Anyone can feel sorry for themselves and convince themselves they are a victim!

We all have a row to hoe!  Just take the shovel and start doing your part.  Life is not a bed of roses – it is what you make of it, yourself – so just fall in line and do your part.
