It looks like our white, rich fellow with the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team is in hot water, so they say. It seems his “ex-girlfriend” recorded some comments he made which were racist. Her remark was, “that he wanted her to record what he said because he could not remember what he said.” What a bunch of crock? That is what “hanger-on’s” do for a living. What this fellow needs is another type of hanger-on to protect him from getting into this type of situation. What about all of these rappers who make all of these racists recordings about race and women, Reverend Wright, and Farrakhan. I don’t see anyone getting this stirred up and taking their contracts away from them. It happens on both sides. This word called “racist” will never end in America as long as money and a political charge can be made from it. There are race hustlers who will always pull out that card when they are trying to extort money from people in this country. That is how they get “ahead.” Strange, wonder why you don’t have this problem in other countries?

Condemnation is all I have heard today from the television stations. We need to wait until we hear all of the information on how much was paid for the tape which was a private conversation and not public and who received the money for the tape. It is hard to understand – he had a ex-girlfriend and a wife, the ex-girlfriend is Hispanic and black (and the old gent piled all kinds of goodies in her bag – house, Lamborghini, plus other cars, etc.), he has players whereby the majority of the players are black, the coach is black, he donates piles of money to the NAACP, and the NAACP was going to give him a special award because he gives so much money to the blacks, plus free tickets to the games, and other gratuities. Something smells to high heaven in this neck of the woods. And, tonight, the NAACP is going to forgive him. Now, we will wait until 2:00 p.m. tomorrow when the commissioner speaks as to what the outcome will be.

Charles Barkley, sports announcer and former basketball player, had an unusual spin on this gent. Barkley said the gent paid eight million dollars for the Clippers many years ago and now the team is worth, I think he said $130 million, and it all came about because the black players helped him raise the worth and that the team just didn’t belong to only this gent. That is a different take – weren’t the players paid a big, big salary and had a contract for being on the team? It would be like me working for a big oil company who paid me a salary for say 30 years and when I retired, I actually owned part of the company because I worked there and helped the company increase in value? Charles, it doesn’t work that way! Did you get that attitude from the “you didn’t build that” fellow?

There was only one thing lacking in the announcement yesterday by the NBA. Full disclosure – why didn’t this commissioner announce that all of these recordings (it is stated there are at least 100 tapes) were recorded in this man’s home in a personal conversation. How did the television station “just happened to end up with them and who gave them the tapes?” How much did they pay for them? Since it has been revealed that the conversations were private – his statement was they are now public. So, was this legal for this person to record their personal conversations? Was the NBA still mad that this man moved the team without their permission from San Diego to Los Angeles? Was this man set up? Did this man think a young girl was after him for “true love? With all of those dollars signs in her eyes instead of heart beats!” When will all of these dollared men ever learn to do a little vetting.
Another thing that hit me between the eyes was on Fox this morning Peter Johnson’s statement in discussing this matter that he stated “that the NBA teams only had “one black” owner. Does he not understand how businesses are formed? You buy them!
Now that this game has been finalized in the court of public opinion. The finals will now begin with a jump ball on the court of the legal system.
Wealthy men and women never seem to learn – they are vulnerable in the arena of life because there is always someone out there wanting some of their money without working for it. This could be a new college course – how to recognize vulnerability. This man should have learned early on with the many times he has been brought to court because someone wanted a share of his money. If these people look hard enough they will always find a way because that is what they do for a living – live off the hard work of another.
