SOCIAL SECURITY FACTS

Social security has been around a long time and has helped a lot of people.  The older and younger generation have contributed many dollars into the government program. It does not matter whether you are a Republican or Democrat, the true facts will stand the test of time.

It is time that we review these facts: Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security card  which was called the FICA Program.   Social security cards up until the 1980’s stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes.   Now nearly everyone in the United States has a number and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, has been removed. His promise at the time was:

1.  That participation in the program would be completely voluntary – no longer voluntary.

2.  That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the program – now 7.65% on the first $90,000.

3.  That the money the participants elected to put into the program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year – no longer tax-deductible.

4.  That the money the participants put into the independent “Trust Fund” rather than into the general fund, would only be used to fund the social security retirement program and no other government program – under Lyndon Johnson the money was moved to the general fund AND SPENT.

5.  That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income – Under Bill Clinton and Al Gore, Democrats, up to 85% of your social security is taxed.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a social security check every month and are now finding out that we are getting taxed on 85% of the  money we paid to the Federal government to “put away” for our retirement.  Just think, if we would have taken that same social security money and put it in a savings account – how much money we would really have that would be in our hands instead of the greedy government.  The same thing is happening to our IRA’s – they talk us into saving without taxes at the time; but, their real intentions is to “save” it for them in the end.  How many times will we go through this before we learn?

Now we have a few fact-based questions that just happen to follow the social security debate.

Question:  Which political party took social security from the independent “trust fund” and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?

Answer:  It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.  And the audacity – each time, they stole money out of this fund as the story goes  – they put a little note in the vault that held the money that stated – AN IOU note – signed Lyndon Johnson, House, and Senate!

Question:  Which political party eliminated the income tax deduction for social security (FICA) withholding?

Answer:  The Democratic Party.

Question:  Which political party started taxing social security annuities.

Answer:  The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the “tie-breaking” deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice-President of the U.S.

Question:  Which political party decided to start giving our annuity payments to immigrants?

Answer:  Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into his country, and at age 65, began to receive social security payments.  The Democratic party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it.

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take away your social security?  The Republican Party is not perfect; but, they have never continued to dump on the American people.  Do you as an American, call this social justice?  We must dump all of this social justice back into the Democrats laps and be done with it. They work for us and they (the Democrats) think they get to decide who needs our hard-earned money?  It is time for the American worker to stand up and make our change because the Democrats cannot be trusted.  Enough is enough!
