MEAT GLUE SECRET.

A new item has risen on the horizon and it is called “glued meat.”  The new words on the label that you need to look for is, “formed meat products.”  If any kind of meat – chicken, steak, etc., has these words on the label then it is a product that is not the original product.  The way it was introduced in our household was in the form of boneless chicken breasts that I boil for my puppy, Beau, and include small chunks in his regular dog food. After boiling the meat, it sits for a cooling period.  Then it is sliced in small pieces and it was noticed that it all fell apart – not what I was used to seeing – but really did not think too much about it.  After feeding it to Beau, I noticed that he ate some but not all of it which was unusual.  I did notice in his bowel movements it was like a long piece of glue.  Yesterday, I received the attached video which warns you of the dangers of this product. This white powder is sold by the kilo.  It is called meat glues.  They take pieces of beef, lamb, chicken or fish that would normally be thrown out, and stick it together so closely that they look like a solid piece of meat.  After it is frozen, it is sliced into steaks, boneless chicken breasts.  I would suggest that you check with your store butcher and asked if your store prepares and buys this type of meat. The video is on YouTube and I finally downloaded it – the video is called the  “Meat Glue Secret.

If you cannot reach the above site, just click on Google for meat glue and it covers all of the info!  The video is excellent.
