The definition of work is the use of energy or skill in doing or making something (called labor).  The definition of ethics is the study of right and wrong in human conduct.  So I will let you figure out what it means when you combine the two words into “work ethic.”  Our work ethic in this country is being controlled by our government because of the lack of jobs.  Most of the people in America have been raised to work and achieve whatever lifestyle they wanted for themselves.  The sky was the limit.  Our leader was never raised in the world of “work ethics” because of the family problems this young man had to endure.  It seems the rest of the world thinks America works too much – what do they know – I always considered the rest of the world “lazy.”  It is sad when you walk around all day throwing rocks is not my idea of being productive;  but,  when you have no job and that is all you have to do –  except pray all day.  That is not the life for me.  This writer just wished the leader was her son.  If that were true, he and this writer would have a “jam session.”  It seems that he always asks for advice but never has the courage to take it (Simpson and Bowles report).  He told them he would not take any action before or after the election.  His plans are he wanted to tax, spend, and re-distribute the wealth in the country – and let the next president worry about the spending and debt.  Isn’t that what he was raised to do?  Now it is up to the Congress, who holds the purse, to hold the reins because we don’t expect anything good for America until our present leader – rides into the sunset.
