KOMMONSENTSJANE – IT’S SHOW TIME!

Tuesday, our leader will give his State of the Nation speech to the country; and,  he is supposed to discuss “inequality.”   Will the maintenance person  be setting the  temperature in the room on hot air flow?  Will the congressmen and senators be dressed in their Brooks Brother’s suits?  I do not understand why he needs to talk about the subject of “inequality” when half of the people do not have a job and do not receive any pay.  The inequality is the fact that he is not working to create jobs.  Instead of inequality, I think the leader needs to give the people an explanation on why under his leadership the country is falling behind and what can be done to correct the following topics:

U.S. sovereign debt downgraded:  first time in   American history.

Federal spending (25% of GDP):  highest since WW II.

Budget deficit (10% of GDP):  highest since WW II.

Federal debt (67% of GDP):  highest since WW II.

Employment (58.1% of population working):  lowest since 1983.

Long term employment (45.9% of total):  highest since 1930’s.

Increase in non-farm payroll employment (0.5%) since recovery began 26 months ago:  slowest job growth 26 months after a severe recession since WW II.

Home ownership rate (59.7%);  lowest since 1965.

Percentage of taxpayers paying income tax (49%):  lowest in modern era.

Government dependency (47%), defined as the percentage of persons receiving one or more federal benefit payments:  highest in American history.

With all of these clues, it seems things are not looking very good on his watch.  I think we need to talk about the things at hand and not skip to a new topic called “inequality.”  If nothing else, he needs to explain the “Keystone Pipeline” and why he will not authorize it since he does have a pen and a phone.  This alone would create a lot of jobs in the country.  He needs to explain himself and quit whining!
