So King Springsteen blattered along singing his song, “Born to Run,” and the minute the words were out of his mouth, somebody struck up the plucking guitar and everybody joined in with all their might. It did not warm you up and make you feel good or freshen up anything because it only sounded dishonest and bullying. Music is a good thing and after all that soul butter and hog wash, I was disappointed in the man who entered the ring of politics, who shamed his state and the people who elected the governor, and who I thought was the King of his music.
We have just enough religion to make us hate; but, not enough religion to make us love one another.
