It is time for the American people to start vetting the candidates for next year’s election. I hope we as a nation do a better job this time because in the last two presidential elections we have elected people who were questionable candidates and look what is happening to our country. I am watching the election between Matt Bevin, R-Kentucky, and U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky. Senator McConnell’s voting record as a Republican is dismal and does not stand up for conservative principles. The next group is Chris McDaniel versus Senator Thad Cochran, both R-Mississippi. It seems Thad votes with the Democrats for more government and less freedom. The next vetting is Ben Sasse, R-Nebraska. This seat is open because Senator Mike Johanns, R-Nebraska is retiring. Lastly, and the most important vetting is Rob Maness, R-Louisiana, is challenging Senator Mary Landrieu, Democrat, a 16-year incumbent who cast the deciding vote for Obamacare, only if she received a special deal. We must do a better job of vetting this time and not support conservatives who are conservatives in name only.
