Our trip to Wal-Mart to buy groceries is always the first order of duty when arriving in Mexico. It is always an interesting feat because everything is in Spanish. Our first step is to plan our of strategy to publish a grocery list with what we plan to eat and planning our visits to the local restaurants. Eating out becomes boring if you eat out every day. So breakfast is always at the condo in order to relax and have our morning leisure of coffee and rehashing our plans for the day. Exercising at the sports center is a morning ritual and then visiting the beach and checking out the sea turtles to see what stage they are. It is interesting to watch them when they are born to scramble for the water. So after ordering a cab we arrived at Wal-Mart and strolling through the aisles we assembled all of our goodies and those we missed we stopped this nice, handsome young man and asked, “do you speak English? His answer was “poquito” which means a little. He was quite helpful and continued to direct us and as we were leaving – he had a question – he pointed to the aisles. We were happy to reply “aisles” and even spelled it out “a – i – s – l – e.” So in the end, we both learned something from each other today. He gave us a deep smile with a “Gracias.”
