In a stunning development, some military priests are facing arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the federal government shutdown. Has all of the mosques been closed as well? I wonder if this includes all religions – have they been shut down? “The constitutional rights of those who put their lives on the line for this nation do not end with a government shutdown,” replied Kansas Representative Mike Pompeo, a graduate of West Point and an Army veteran. “It is completely irresponsible for the president to turn his back on every American’s First Amendment rights by furloughing military contract clergy.” Senator Ted Cruz replied, “These priests have a First Amendment right to practice faith. Hope POTUS takes possible criminal penalties off the table.” Representative Eric Cantor replied, “The House will vote tomorrow to affirm the right of all military chaplains to conduct services during the shutdown.” One Republican Lawmaker on the House Intelligence Committee said: “This crosses a constitutional line.” As I have noted on numerous occasions, the American people are fighting the Socialist Democratics who do not want God in their platform because they have been infiltrated with people who are not Christians – so I am not surprised this has happened. I have waiting for them to “show their true colors.”
