It seems that Ben Stein hit the nail on the head on CBS on Sunday.  He said he was tired of being pushed around for being a Jew and where is it stated in the Bible that we have to worship celebrities and are not allowed to worship God as each individual understands him?  The story that Ben is relating did not start only recently.  I can remember when I was a young girl, one of my school friends told me  I was going to hell because I did not belong to her religion. 

My family was raised that you did not discuss politics and religion in the public square and you went by the Golden Rule of the Bible, “Judge ye  not, lest ye be judged.”  There is always enough room in God’s tent for the Atheist and the non-believer.  We are still suffering “God’s thorns.”  These thorns are the non-believer – and, that is okay – because in the end – none of us know  the real story – but, we have faith, hope, and charity as our guiding lights. 

There will always be those who try to cast doubt on the world of religion.  They can be whoever they want in the country –  non-believers, Atheist, Muslim or whatever; and, they will continue beating their drums against religion; but the main thing is to let them speak – it will only reinforce our faith and remain true to our own way of life.  God will take care of all of the rest of it at the end.

As far as the movie stars Ben was talking about, they need the public because the public is responsible for making these celebrities rich and famous.  The public knows how to boycott a star if they get too big for their britches or panties and bring them down to size because they live in a world of fantasy.
