Sound business practices are often only one-fourth of what goes into a business plan in the form of strategies and approved programs. The other three-fourths are politics and egos. This is what has happened in Obamacare and the reason it is totally unacceptable to the American people.
Originally, the plan was to cover all of America – this meant all of government (White House, House, Senate, and all administrative groups – everyone). (Just think if it were all-inclusive!) Then as the plan information started dribbling out in pieces, a lot of the groups decided – that is not for me – I presently have good insurance.
After a lot of interaction with Obama, waivers were handed out to states, unions, House, Senate, and government employee subsidies, etc., etc. In so doing this, Obama, himself, has basically “defunded” Obamacare because of the number of people he has granted waivers to in return for favors. In addition, he has delayed the incorporation of the large businesses into the plan – so that even further defunds Obamacare.
Due to the number of people being left off the hook, this causes big problems because you might add a lot of people who presently do not have insurance; but, you have waivered a lot of people. This big hole in the donut, Obamacare, leaves less money to pay for the new system.
As we all know the American people wants the House to defund the program. So comparing apples (Obama’s waivers) and oranges (the House defunding it), Obama really started the downward trend of not supporting Obamacare – especially, letting the large businesses off the hook, temporarily.
The best thing is to defund it – take it to the operating room, trim all of the fat and taxes – with no more than 200 pages total in English whereby the common person can read and understand it, and restructure it with plastic surgery. Or maybe just throw it in the trash heap and submit a simple plan. In the meantime, people can keep what they have until the new plan is ready.
The major point is, if you want to succeed in planning, you have to understand the laws of planning.
