The American people are tired of war and the cost that it brings to the country.  The people do not want to be the policeman of the world – which is true.  I think America has done its share in trying to straighten out the world; and, it is time we rethink this policy.  Since World War II, we have had nothing but one war after another.  The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have not settled any issues between the different religions or cultures, they are still killing each other every day.  What do we as a country have to show for all of the money and lives we have wasted in those wars?  At the present time, it is nothing but a confused mass of contradictions. 

The group of politicians that want to bomb Syria are the same politicians that were involved in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and they claim they want to bomb Syria for humanity reasons because Assad gassed his own people.  What about the humanity reasons for our own young people who these politicians continue to send into harms way?  If you watch television and you can see these young people who have their whole life ahead of them with no limbs, bodies all crumbled, and now are trying to remake their lives.  It breaks my heart!  For what, so that those people in Iraq and Afghanistan could be free?  Well, our young people have lost their freedom by not being whole.  So, who is more valuable – those gassed people or our very own young people.  Why don’t the muslim’s armies get off their backside and send in their own armies to correct this deficiency in Syria.  I don’t see that they are so upset by all of the people who were gassed.  The reasons that our leader is giving for going into Syria are not good enough for me.  Both sides are our enemies so let them sort it out.  From what I can see, Russia, China, and Iran are going to back Syria because they have too much invested for Assad to lose and he knows that.  From my porch, all I can see is World War III.  Why worry if anyone thinks America is weak because a “red line” was drawn – if push comes to shove with those three countries, we can then show them how weak we really are.
