Stew is being made in my household this morning. Stew is one of those dishes that you can heap anything you want into it. When I make stew it always makes me think about elections. Our country is a melting pot and as far as the elections go our politicians throw a lot of true and false facts out there so you have to stew about what they say and then make up your own mind as to who is telling the truth and who is pulling your leg. We have found out that the white culture is a mixed bag as far as voting is concerned. The Hispanic vote again is questionable because we have “low information voters” and then just voters and this could also apply to the white culture. After that we have the black community whereby the majority always vote “democrat” because they feel they get the most from that party, especially if it is a black candidate. But, the Plantation Party talks a good game to keep all of these people on the plantation; but, never come through for those people. Look at Illinois (Chicago and Detroit). I don’t have to speak about the plague and blight in those cities. I know change is frightening to anyone; but, if those people don’t pull themselves up by the boot straps – it ain’t going to happen. They can’t wait for the Plantation Party – the folks are going to have to do it themselves. Their rule is 20% count and 80% don’t matter. I get furious when I see our country’s cities in this shape when only a few people received the rewards of people’s hard work and paychecks (with some government officials who were caught stealing and in prison – they didn’t catch enough of them). I only can encourage those people “that they can do it and make a difference by not listening to the demagogues and make their own way.” I have worked with and around a lot of different cultures and my main ingredient to them is: “don’t wait for others to pull you up – it ain’t going to happen – pull up that anchor, throw it in the boat, and row your own boat.” Well, my stew is done! Just tasted it and it sure tastes good.
