THE BULLY PULPIT

Do you feel sometimes when people speak they are not reaching the audience?  When some people speak, I always feel comfortable and understand where they stand on the subject because they draw you into the conversation.

The most important item is – Think before you speak.  Think about the purpose of your communication.  What do you hope to accomplish with your words or actions?  Are your comments about something you are responsible for doing?  It is always good to remember the words of the nineteenth-century guru, Sai Baba.  Before you speak, ask yourself – Does it improve on the silence?

When you continue to beat the drum of repetition, it can backfire and people will tune you out.  Always blaming the other fellow doesn’t help either and leave “I” at home.  You must respect other people’s point of view and work with them to resolve the problem.  The end result is working with each other to achieve success for the common good.
