When you are putting a meal together you must have the right ingredients in order to achieve success.  It looks like our broken immigration system will never be successful as long as we keep trying to  add the wrong ingredients or leaving out the major ingredient.  The ingredient missing at this time is the “border security” ingredient which is going to cause the whole pancake to end up being  flat again.  They have baked this recipe twice before and it has ended with the same unsuccessful results.  The recipe which I think would be successful  is:

Secure the border with the military and border patrol agents.  If you start this process without a secure border then we will have a rush of people trying to get in to take advantage of this program.  Take all of the rules that are now on the shelf and determine what rules are passed and not enforced.  Have boot camp for all of these people who are here illegally to sign up and determine how many in this country are illegal?  Then weed out the criminals and return them to the country of origin.  Give the rest green cards to work and live and put them on a path of citizenship.  Send them to school to learn English and achieve their GED  diploma during the day or night since most of them are not educated. Take our Visa program off the shelf and enforce it.  Crank up the “E” verify program. The most important ingredient is to have a plan from start to finish.  Then bake it.   What is so hard about that.
