THE MAIN COURSE – A PILL?

The “daily prompt” site today stated “if you could get all the nutrition you needed in a day with a pill – would you do this?”  Yes, a lot of young folks in jobs and colleges would love this “expediency.”  But, short of this, we would miss the interaction or socialization we need as humans.  We would not need McDonald’s or Jack in the Box which would make a lot of nutritionists happy.  The evening  dinner with family would no longer happen where conversation and interaction bring people closer together.  We would not need grocery stores just pharmacies to pick up our pills.  I think we have enough pills in our lives – which are helpful when needed.  I like vitamin supplements which should be a part of everyone’s life.  These little fellows come into play on a day that you omit healthy eating.  Could it be that “convenience and expediency” are not always the answer to a healthy lifestyle – the brain needs more than food to make it happy, emotionally.  What about a pill for “love – sorry – we don’t count Viagra or Cialis in this setting?”  We now have pills for sadness; but, when you stop the pill – you still have to face reality.  Besides, it would be a boring life.  So,  is a pill really the answer?  Or, as a society are we becoming  lazy?
