Was Ohio State President Gordon Gee trying to set an example for the students when he mocked the Roman Catholics and Notre Dame? I think he missed the mark! It seems an apology always follows stupidity. Why would you even bring religion into the conversation at the university’s athletic council – commenting that Catholic’s can’t be trusted. I suggest that Gee needs to look in the mirror and ask himself if parents can entrust him with their young people if he is so hypocritical. He stated that the comments do not reflect his thinking or Ohio State’s – so why the mocking and the purpose of the remark – was it to try to be a part of the liberal professors at your university – or maybe you thought your job was slipping away? He further stated that twentieth century values have no place in a forward thinking world and I take that very much as my own responsibility as a leader. Who are you to decide what is “forward thinking.” Is being a divisive leader your job? How can he have the audacity to look forward to a commencement speech which he is scheduled to make on June 8 at the Roman Catholic School, St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus. I wonder how these graduates will respond to his bigotry?
