How often do you tell your child or children, “I love you? Sometimes it seems there are not enough hours in the day to love and pamper your family. Although, it doesn’t take much to inspire a child – the main ingredient is called giving them special time. A smiling face on the mirror in the bathroom in the morning when they wake up or a note on their pillow at night. Or at breakfast, raise your orange juice glass and toast your child for being a great kid. Buying a some small gift, like a barrette for a daughter, or a tee-shirt for a son – just say, it is a present because you love him or her. Special attention is always a treat for any child. No matter how young or how old – you never, ever get tired of hearing those caring words. The other word that seems to hurt some people when they say them are: Thank you! In fact, I asked a relative in our family why I had never heard them say “thank you” to anyone? The reply was astounding: When you thank someone you are “begging.” Good grief, I almost fainted. That was a new one for me. How would anyone come to that conclusion?
P.S. Children, it is okay to tell your parents you love them and appreciate them for all they do for you, too.
