How important is music in your life? I knew that when the radio was playing music, it seemed everyone was in a good humor and were either whistling, humming, or singing the words. My Dad played the accordion in the evenings and all of the children listened or danced. I was fortunate to be able to take piano lessons from a neighbor by washing her dishes or cleaning her house. So, I have spent many hours of enjoyment just sitting down at the keyboard or piano. When growing up, on the weekend, the big bands would come to town so the children were bundled up and everyone went to the dance at the VFW Hall or Knights of Columbus Hall. The children were placed on the floor on a blanket and played while the parents danced. And, at least once during the dance the children would be taken on the dance floor and taught how to dance. During intermission the children would slide on the slick dance floor. Usually, by midnight, all of the children were sound asleep.
