It seems the Senate Judiciary Committee has made it clear that there will be no enforcement provisions in the Gang of 8’s amnesty bill. There can be no repeat of 1986 and this is what they are trying to do is pull the wool over the American people again and again.
This committee voted down amendments to require the completion of the border fence as mandated by the Secure Fence Act.
This committee also opposed an amendment (why wasn’t it in the bill itself – why was it an amendment) to require Congress, and not the white house to sign off on the border’s level of security (the white house to sign off on the border security???? somebody lost their mind). They even opposed an amendment that would have required the border to be secured and the fencing completed. They want a repeat of the 1986 legislation that will only give amnesty and not secure the border.
This Gang of 8 is surely not serious – why are they spending all of this time on the same thing we have been through twice before and accomplished nothing but more illegal immigrants freely coming across the border. Also, just check how much money it will cost the American people with the increased burden of entitlements.
We must reject the Gang of 8’s proposal and let the House work this problem and include our ICE people in the meetings for their input (they have not been included in the meetings with the Gang of 8).
