Can you remember when people all over the world wanted to be educated in America?  That is not the case now.  And, it is not because of guns in America as was stated earlier by our Secretary of State.  When people can graduate from high school and college and receive a diploma from each and not be able to read or write, then we have a problem.  When they are tested for a job and cannot pass the entrance test for employment, this is more evidence that our teachers and professors are  not doing their job.  I have discussed professor class attendance and teaching with new employees when I worked.  Their reply was the professor never taught the class and never showed  up – in most cases it was the assistant to the professor.  And, when they do show up they brow-beat the students.  I think we have let this go on too long.  We keep saying our educational system is in the gutter and we need to correct this – so let’s start moving this ball on the court.  It is time the colleges start doing some “soul-searching” because we spend too much money sending our kids to college and the kind of people who are  educating them do not  have our values.  I think we need to take the car keys away from these professors until they can prove themselves.
