Can this be true?  I went to Snopes and Truthorfiction and neither had anything to say about this:

Obama overrides Congress to buy $690 million worth of Russian choppers for Afghan air force.

How can we stop this?  Why aren’t we letting Afghan buy their own choppers?  Is this what Obama meant with  the “open mike” with Mevedev-Russia  “that he could do more after the election?”  The 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, approved by Congress last year, includes an amendment that prohibits financial contracts between the U.S. and this Russian arms maker (Rosoboronexport  sells weapons to Iran – playing the ends against the middle), except when the Secretary of Defense determines that such arrangements are in the interest of national security.  And, this was a no bid deal?

Here we go again – how does this leader get by with this deal making under the table, if Congress has the purse?  It looks like we have a “pig in the poke” here.
