Have  you ever seen a wet noodle?  That is what is happening in our country when you have competition and you have these wet noodles that want to give everyone a medal when the game is over.  Undoubtedly these people who have come up with this brilliant idea must have always been losers when they were growing up.  Competition is a contest between two or more persons or groups, each seeking the same goal.  This goal may be business success, a victory in an athletic competition or an election, or any other objective.  So, you can see how important it is for children to learn how to be good losers as well as good winners.  Sportsmanship demands honesty, fair play, cooperation, competitive spirit, respect for authority and rules, acceptance of responsibility, and respect for others.  The true sportsman plays hard in order to win, but respects his opponent and accepts defeat gracefully.  A warning to parents do not let your children be a part of this travesty.
