This is my favorite time of the year. The air is fresh and clean with the past rains and the flowing of the air into your lungs feels like your chest is bulging. The windows have been cleaned by the acid rain and that takes away the job of cleaning the outside windows. It is amazing, we just don’t realize how God works miracles, so you need to stop and give him a pat on the back for a job well done. The mothers’ of the just born kid goats are parading their babies around like “look what I just did.” Even “Beau” is barking because the kids and the deer are invading his property – so he is not a happy camper. The fruit trees are budding out. The peach trees are in bloom; but, we had a problem with one of them last year. The peaches that were on the tree looked like apricots and tasted bitter. This year that tree’s blossoms were so full and breath-taking with beauty. My husband, stated that if the tree did not produce sweet fruit this year he was going to cut it down. I replied, “why cut down something with so much beauty in the spring, regardless if the fruit is not useful.” I suggested that he purchase a five-pound bag of sugar and pour around the trunk – thereby, giving the tree a hint. We both got a good chuckle out of that. The apple, orange, lime, and pear trees are also starting to pop out. We also have red bud trees that are full of pink blooms, plus two mock pears that are loaded with white blossoms. Also, our neighbors bees are daily visitors and enjoy all of the blossoms – actually not knowing which one to attack first. Now we are looking forward to all of the fruit and some honey from our neighbor since we are furnishing the nectar and pollen for his bees. Doesn’t that sound like a fair trade.
As Grandmother use to say, – Spring has sprung the grass has rize – I wonder where the pretty girls is? The thing I like most about poetry is you can use incorrect English.
