It was very interesting to see the new ads on television from Duluth, MN, entitled, “Un-Fair Campaign.” The ads have all of these white faces with different connotations written on them. The main frame stipulates, “It’s hard to see racism when you’re white.” Undoubtedly these people have not travelled outside of the U.S. When you are in countries other than the U.S. you can then certainly know when you are the minority and the treatment you receive. So, don’t give me this song and dance that a white person does not know how racism feels. Not one person on this earth had anything to do with whether they are white, black, or brown – so for your group to try to single out one group and put the monkey on that group of people’s backs tells me that you are the racist or trying to make a group of people feel guilty they were born whatever color. If you are trying to help the cause of racism you are certainly going forward in a strange way. Also, from your list of campaign partners listed on your website, I certainly would publish individual names who are involved in this because it is certainly easy to stand behind a company name. Also, where is your money coming from to fund this campaign? As I have mentioned before, none of the people on this earth at the present time had anything to do with bringing the black people to America (which I am glad because I have been associated with many that I called good people) and slavery. When people continue to bring up slavery as a hammer then you are pounding on the wrong nail. Also, is this the way the town of Duluth, MN, is trying to raise money to run the city or why is the city putting their guilt feelings on the whole country?
It sounds like the “pot calling the kettle white/black/brown.”
