Yes, this is a rant – but I am teed off. The news media was showing snippets from a town hall meeting held by John McCain with his constituents. The question was, “Why hasn’t the fence been built to protect the U.S. from this invasion from Mexico?” The fence was promised to the people of this country and they have had enough time and money allocated to have completed this fence long time ago. McCain’s reply was “we have built a banana fence.” Just what does that mean to the people of this country? In my opinion, this was a smart-aleck answer and this constituent needs an apology and a respectful answer. America has been patient and compassionate in this regard in that water stations have been put up along the border so that if immigrants do come across they won’t die from the heat. I guess the next thing we will install are “soup kitchens” so that they won’t starve. Just try going across the border into Mexico on foot and try to steal your way in – you will be shot. Our Marine tried to go into Mexico legally in a truck with a gun permit and look where he ended up – in jail – no food or water – only what the American consult brought him. Reciprocal treatment – hell no! These representatives of the people have gotten too arrogant – it is not about compassion – it is about votes. They forget they work for us and we want answers not hedging answers. I was very disappointed in McCain because people came to the meeting with legitimate questions and all these people got was “the run around.” And, to put the icing on the cake he dismissed the constituent by saying “that’s enough,” The nerve of this guy thinking he is the lone wolf in these problems. The big problem is these representatives are wealthy and arrogant; and, they feel like they don’t need us “peons” telling them what to do. Well, I think the people of Arizona know what to do in the next election. I respect the legal immigrants who come to this country for a better life because my grandparents came to this country for the same reason; but, when the politicians continuously make a farce of our laws – we need to vote them out whether they are democrat or republican.
