This is what happens if you are censured by your colleagues.  It only emboldens you the next time.  Our U.S. democrat Representative from New York, Charlie Rangel, is making news again, “New York is a little different and more progressive in a lot of areas then some other states and some of the southern areas have cultures we have to overcome.”  I assumed he was talking about having to be dishonest to get ahead??  If you recall this was the guy who was censured on the house floor.  Censured is a shunning and the politician must stand before his peers and listen to the censure resolution as it is read.  His punishment was to pay restitution and provide proof of payment for unpaid taxes on “11” ethics violations and to resign from the “Ways and Means” Committee.  If this guy would have been a Republican or a little guy, he would be in the “slammer” today.  This is what a slap on the wrist does – only emboldens you the next time.
