In 2005, our leader said the only way to close shortfalls was for Congress to pay the bills as they were made.    Did our leader believe what he said then; undoubtedly not, since we have a debt of $16 trillion?  I think our leader should go back and read this speech again.  In 2013, we would like to hear that he has re-programmed his thinking to a pay-as-you-go method.  He still has time to save his legacy.

I can see the headlines in the history books: 

Obama’s deadbeat nation – worst spending in history of nation.

or it could read:

Obama saved the nation with massive cuts in spending and debt.
