Growing up, my mother always told me I could be anything I wanted to be in this country – that it was up to me. But, there is only one stipulation – you had to work for it. Since I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, it meant you had to work up the ladder of success. It was not easy; but, in retrospect, it certainly made me appreciate everything I earned on the way up. What fun I have had looking back at the pitfalls and walking back steps and getting up and hitting the glass ceiling and finally crashing that glass ceiling. It wasn’t easy; but, it wasn’t easy for the men either. I would not have had it any other way. So, when you see women complain that an employer asked her if she was going to have a family – that is no big deal – all you have to honestly say is “hell, yes.” One thing you learn about living and working in life and business – if you always tell the truth you do not have to remember what you said – it comes back naturally – but if you lie – that is hard to remember.
LIFE HAS NO REMOTE – GET UP AND CHANGE IT YOURSELF!
