After watching the interview of Lance Armstrong last evening, Oprah kept asking him how he felt on a given day five or whatever years ago when he would do something. Folks can you remember “how you FELT” on a given day. Most likely most people would be doing good just to remember the event unless you maintained a diary.
We have all seen football players who have been hurt on the field while playing and the team doctor would give them a shot to be able to keep playing or given a pain shot if they were in pain during the game. Same thing in any other sport whether it is baseball, golf, tennis, table tennis, hockey, etc. Also, in the outside world, people go to the doctor for steroid shots in theirs knees, back, shoulders, etc., to be free of pain. Are we going to make them fess up? I am going to have to tell Grandma that she is doping.
From what I could understand from the interview, doping is a part of the culture of cycling. It looks to me the people, besides the winners of these events, who benefit from this are the pharmaceutical companies and the doctors.
Are we going to go after all of these other sports people who have made millions from doing the same thing by keeping them in the game? I don’t condone the bullying; but, this man is not the first to cheat nor will he be the last. Will we now let this man ride off into the sunset and live in peace?
